New Cherlen
My new floor-standing loudspeaker Cherlen II.
This is the new CHerlen. A small floorstanding loudspeaker with the Accuton C25 tweeter and the Morel CAW 634 midwoofer. It is a competitor to the Accuton Inn. A very good combination.
I wanted to build a small floor-standing loudspeaker with a small footprint, living room-friendly compared to my CNO Grand and the Ekta Grand. In the Klang und Ton of August/September 2015, there was a nice design with the Morel CAW 634 and the Audaphon AMT1i tweeter from the Lautsprechershop. I wanted to use the default Mundorf AMT tweeter, but it was difficult to buy. So I did a lot of research to find a new companion for the Morel midwoofer.
I decided to use the new Accuton C25-6-158 ceramic tweeter cell.
Designing a new crossover based on the design of the original Cherlen.
I had to redesign the crossover for the Cherlen because of the Accuton tweeter's different specs.
It's also the first time I have used capacitors from ClarityCap from Wales. The result is very good.
I can't say the Jantzen Audio capacitors are much better. I have been using the Superior Z-condensator and the Alumen Z-condensator which should be a little bettrer.
